American Girls Fashion Show The Child Advocacy Center of Fayetteville invites girls and their friends and families to experience the American Girl Fashion Show® on Saturday, March 20, and Sunday, March 21, 2010, at the Crown Coliseum Ballroom in Fayetteville. This fun, engaging program showcases historical and contemporary fashions for girls and their dolls. Proceeds from the event benefit the Child Advocacy Center’s child abuse prevention and outreach programs. Local girl models will present the fashions, while lively commentary, music and decorations will create a memorable experience for girls and their families. Audiences will delight in historical clothing that resembles what the popular American Girl® characters might have worn. Contemporary “Just like You” outfits for older girls and sweet Bitty Baby fashions for little ones complete the program. The event includes refreshments, party favors, a door and raffle prizes. Tickets are $30 per person and will be available at the Child Advocacy Center website or by calling (910) 486-9700. Birthday party packages will also be available, and raffle tickets will be on sale at the event. East Coast Step Show For Tickets, click here. The East Coast Step Show is a high energy, electrifying event that is entertainment for everyone of all ages. This event has thrilled and entertained fans for 13 years. Created in March 1998, the East Coast Step Show was designed to bring the talent and the art of stepping from various parts of the country; with teams showcasing their styles and choreography. College and Alumni Fraternity & Sorority Step Teams from as far north as Connecticut & New York, from as far south as Florida, and as far west as Texas; have come to Fayetteville to perform with their unforgettable performances and dazzle the crowds. These step teams are competing for the best step teams in the country and the opportunity to be the best on the east coast. These Step Teams also provide inspiration to our high school, middle school, church, and youth step teams in the surrounding areas. Some of the proceeds from this event are used to assist the College and Alumni Fraternity & Sorority Step Teams with scholarships, charity, and community service; plus, a portion is used to help fund the Fayetteville State University Education Endowment Fund. Theatreworks' production of Charlottes' Web, a play by Joseph Robinette with incidental music by Jeffrey Lunden, is based on E.B. White's loving story of the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a little grey spider named Charlotte. Wilbur has a problem: how to avoid winding up as pork chops! Charlotte, a fine writer and true friend, hits on a plan to fool Farmer Zuckerman -- she will create a "miracle." Spinning the words "Some Pig" in her web, Charlotte weaves a solution which not only makes Wilbur a prize pig, but ensures his place on the farm forever.
